Before you can install this plugin, you must have CiviCRM already installed and configured and RSForm installed.
Install the CiviCRM for RSForm plugin using the normal Joomla installer. Once installed, be sure to enable the plugin in the Joomla Plugin Manager.
Once installed and enabled, each form must be mapped individually. The settings are located in the 'Form Properties' tab.
Click on the CiviCRM Integration button on the left menu located under the Extras heading.
Once you have the configuration view open, you'll need to set the general settings.
No: The form will not relay any data to your CiviCRM installation.
Yes: the plugin will send data to your CiviCRM installation.
This should be set to 'No' on a production site. If set to 'Yes' it will display API messages on the frontend when forms are submitted. This is useful for troubleshooting.
Yes: When a form is submitted it will search the CiviCRM contacts for an email address to see if the contact already exists. If a contact does exist, the for data submitted will update the existing contact.
No: When a form is submitted it will create a new contact in CiviCRM (if an email address already exists it will create a duplicate contact).
CiviCRM by default has three different contact types:
This setting will determin which type of contact the form submission will create. Each form can only have one contact type. If you require multiple contact types you'll need to create a for for each type needed.
CiviCRM contacts can have multiple addresses:
Due to limitations in the Civi API, our plugin can only map to one address location type. This setting will determine which type of location the form will map address information to.
Once you have the basic settings configured you can continue on to Mapping Form Fields to CiviCRM Fields.
